Foster Family Network
Join Our Foster Family Network
We believe every Pet deserves a warm, loving home, even if it's just temporary. Our Foster Family Network is vital in providing nurturing environments for Pets awaiting their forever homes. By becoming a foster volunteer, you play a crucial role in the journey of Pets from diverse backgrounds—including cuddly kittens, displaced adult dogs, and gentle bunnies and guinea pigs—preparing them for a cherished life in educational or family settings.
Why Foster with Us?
Fostering with Hannah is a rewarding experience where you do more than just provide shelter. You offer affection, basic training, and socialization, helping pPts become adaptable and suitable companions. We support our foster families every step of the way, supplying all necessary materials, medical care, and guidance—at no cost to you. For Members with a Pet on Hannah’s Total Lifetime Care® plan, there may even be benefits covering the monthly fee for one of your Pets.
Getting Started
To become a foster parent:
Apply
Fill out our application online or request one via email at Volunteer@HannahSociety.org. Make sure all Pets in your household are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Approval
Our foster coordinators review applications within a week. Approved applicants will receive a welcome email inviting them to an upcoming workshop.
Workshop:
Attend a workshop to learn about the responsibilities, procedures, and criteria essential for fostering.
Types of Pets for Fostering:
- Adoptable Pets: Fully vaccinated Pets without medical or behavioral issues.
- Medical Needs: Pets with treatable conditions.
- Behavioral Needs: Pets suited for a home environment due to behavioral issues.
- Puppies & Kittens: Young Pets under 16 weeks or under 5 pounds for kittens.
- Classroom Pets: Help maintain socialization and care for bunnies and guinea pigs during school breaks and the summer months.
